The Failure Bow

Many people in the Agile world are familiar with the Failure Bow, a technique for moving from shame and embarrassment to celebration and availability. It’s a powerful tool for fostering open, trusting, risk-embracing environments.

My good friend, the improv performer and teacher Matt Smith recently demonstrated the Failure Bow on a TedX talk in Bellevue, WA. This is well worth watching, even if you know this technique. It’ll offer a fresh perspective from a true master of failure.
